The 2017 Mazda3
lineup comprises two body styles and four available trim levels, and the model has earned ample praise from drivers from Aurora to Wheaton to Plainfield, as well as from respected industry critics. To that end, Edmunds
heralds the Mazda3 as "one of our top recommendations if you're shopping for a small sedan or hatchback."
Options in the 2017 Mazda3 Lineup
The 2017 Mazda3 is available as a sedan (4-Door) or a hatchback (5-Door), and the biggest difference between the two is obviously space. While the sedan's trunk offers a generous 12.4 cubic feet of space, the hatchback offers 20.2 cubic feet of dedicated cargo space behind the rear seats—a figure that expands to 47.1 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.
Additionally, you have a choice of four trim levels. Here's a small glimpse at some of the features that come with each:
- Mazda3 Sport: Comes equipped with Bluetooth, a 7-inch touchscreen, and a six-speaker audio system.
- Mazda3 Touring: Includes all of the features of the Preferred Equipment package, along with keyless ignition and entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, and heated front seats.
- Mazda3 Touring 2.5: Only available with the 5-Door model, this trim gives you all of the features of the standard Mazda3 Touring along with a sunroof and a peppier engine.
- Mazda3 Grand Touring: Includes the aforementioned more powerful engine as well as the Popular Equipment package, while also adding leather upholstery, a digital speedometer, and a head-up display.
